Overview

Presented at the 2024 CREATE Showcase, Subterranean Soundscapes is my undergraduate thesis for completion of my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Toronto Metropolitan University.

Focused around three primary goals:

  1. Collect and analyze audio from select TTC stations in order to conduct research on the sonic properties of the spaces.
  2. Investigate issues relating to sound from transit systems on the environment surrounding them. (E.g. Noise pollution, vibration impacts, etc.)
  3. Present the final results as an interactive exhibit allowing participants to immerse themselves in the sonic palette of their favourite stations.
